Lovely site, well situated to walk into the local town of Chalin sur Saone alongside the river. The local restaurants provided plenty of options. Toilet facilities were good, but could have done with some cobweb clearing when you looked up.
Great value though.

The site is pleasant,but it deserves more than one night.A walk to Chalon sur Saone is a must, and a lot to see in the area. Restaurant not tried and the children have a good looking play srea

One of the most disappointing sites I’ve stayed at. Reviews were ok and the pictures made it look nice but a view of a dock area and a cramped site coupled with a general run down, dirty appearance was what I was greeted by. Not a place for a holiday. .

We stayed for several nights trying to avoid the rain. I booked online and check-in took moments - “find a place that hasn’t been claimed and take it”. The two facilities blocks are on top of steep mounds which less mobile campers may find a struggle. They are old yet serviceable. The block nearest the campsite entrance is superior in size and quality. There is a WiFi signal however I couldn’t get the portal page to load, so I reject any claims of free WiFi. Would stay again though.

First impressions as we drove towards main entrance were not good as the site was down a small decrepit road and looked old. However, found that the people in reception were very pleasant and the pitches on site were spacious (all on grass).

The amenities are quite basic but kept clean. There are two blocks of amenities- one bigger & better than the other. Both blocks are on a higher level than pitches due to the potential of localised flooding.

We experienced some road noise especially from motorbikes. Also, there is a lot of bird squawking from a nocturnal bird that seemed to go on all night long!

The site is ideally situated for a walk into the historic town of Chalon sur Saone which has some lovely buildings, Cathedral and of course the river. There are plenty of shops & restaurants. There is a trail route around the town available from the Tourist Information and boat trips available.

Although we weren’t there long enough to take advantage, there appeared to be some good cycle routes available.

What a disappointment! Finding a pitch is absolute chaos in spite of being assured by email of a reserved pitch! in the afternoon the tenters arrived,tents in every nook and cranny like a rash! every tiny space filled with no consideration given to fire protection spacing as far as I could see. The photographs in this site description are outdated because there is no unhindered view of the river due to the overgrown foliage on the river bank!

Stayed 4 nights as the voie verte is just outside the gate so great for cyclists. Mid May, been in France 4 weeks and this is easily the busiest site we’ve seen. Almost everyone is just passing through so it empties out and refills every day. Being close to a major route South is probably why but Chalon is worth a day. Free photography museum worth visiting.

This is a very beautiful camp site. we have just spent two nights here and it has been lovely. staff very friendly. always saying hello as they pass by. we are 8.5m motorhome and the pitches were massive. we had loads of space. lovely trees around the site. lovely view of the river too. also very big thank you for providing drinking water point separate from toilet disposal for filling motorhome tank. large load washing machine was great too.
we would definitely recommend this site and we would come back.

Very good campsite close to the village although I arrived late & didn’t manage to see it the showers & toilets are very clean very helpful owner he speaks good English there is a bar & small restaurant the site is very clean it is good for walking or cycling along the river
The site is about 10 mins off the motorway if I get the chance will come back again
